460 no spark at the coil?

hi i own a 79 glastron with a 460 in it i stored it last year for the winter everything was fine i pulled it out 2 weeks ago did some work on it i changed for a breakerless ylm series magnetic electronic distributor of mallory i had before an msd blaster 2 on it i hook it up just like they say in the instruction power wire from the ignition going trought the resistance up to the coil and one bypassing the resistance during start coming from the ground of the starter solenoid plus i put my green wire of the distributor on the ground of the coil the red one on the positive plus the brown one on the body for ground one thing i have notice the current when i plug it the power on the positive of the coil it transfer into the negative pole is it normal???

please help boating season is starting soon !

Only wire connected to coil negative... green from distributor(and maybe a tachometer). No wires from coil negative to ground!! Brown from distributor is chassis ground, red from dist. is coil positive. OE resistance wire also to coil positive, and bypass 12v+ from starter solenoid also to coil positive. (The second bypass wire to coil positive goes to the "I" terminal on starter solenoid, not to a ground).

Aww shoot, I'm getting back in the game again...

yes this is exactly how i put it i went today to buy the mallory coil they say to use for a better spark and still nothing i tried cranking it and looking at the green wire coming out of the distributor for signal etheir a ground or positive and i got nothing no pulse is it possible my module in the distributor is defective??

NOTHING on the 12V part of the coil goes to ground. The 12V bypass from the starter solonoid will go to the + side (along with the resisted 12V wire from the ignition switch) to give you full 12V while cranking. Usually most ignition modules (like the MSD models) use a green wire for a tach lead (to signal the tach). What are you using for a ignition module?

im using a mallory distributor (675-YLM567EV) with an integrated module i have 3 wires coming out of the distributor red green and brown the red one for the + side of the coil the green one on the - of the coil and the brown one going to the bloc for ground and i have 2 positive wire on the + side of the coil one who goes from key on power and one from the i born of the starter
i bought this distributor in march got my boat out of storage 25 april and ever since its on it doesnt want to start having no spark at the coil i just bought the mallory one + the resistance they sell to optimize but still nothing..

I may be wrong but I don't believe the brown is a ground. I'll have to dig through some old paper-work to see if I still have wiring instructions for that piece
