I need to change out my motor mounts. My '67 Stang is finished and show ready. I REALLY don't want to take the hood off, take the carb off and mount a manifold lift to raise the motor. I prefer to g e n t l y raise the motor by jacking up on the oil pan, using a large board to spread the load across all edges of the pan. Anyone done this? Advice?
I've done it a lot over the years. Go slow and be careful. What you DON'T want to do is jack it up under the balancer with a fully dressed big block. Those things are heavy! Lol.

Yes, you can raise the engine by placing a board under the pan. You just have to make sure the load is at the edges/rounded part of the pan, not on the flat. I've done it many times but the last time the 4X4 block moved and put the weight on the flat causing a significant dent right under the pickup. Had to remove the pan and restore its shape.
