Iron headed (dove) 472. HFT cam, roller rockers. Was just going to check my valve adjustment. Ticking a little. And wondering if it needed to be hot. They were set at 1/2 turn past zero lash. Sounds like maybe could be looser?
Aggressive HFT profiles can be noisey. Similar to SFT.
If the noise is similar to tapping fingers on glass in rapid succession you are fine.
If you have a rocker or two with a notable tap then investigate.
Other sources of noise can be seal to retainer contact
Intake valve hitting piston
Poor geometry
Cast aluminum valve covers amplify the existing noise as well.
Thanks for the feedback. Checked everything out and all looks good. Probably just need louder exhaust
