It's not just here. A lot of other forums are slow with little activity. I'm guessing that the summer racing season winding down has a lot to do with it. Guys are waiting for the next "trick of the week" to start planning for next year.
I think it has to do with having to change password 100 times. I gave up on a few sites handled by "Auto Guide group" because of it. I got banned on two of them.:laugh::laugh:
I noticed a definite drop off in activity after they made the password change mandatory. I think they shot themselves in the foot. I looked at a few profiles of people who used to be very active on here and they have not signed on in months. Coincidence? ...I think not.
I'm glad you posted "Dead" I was wondering what was up. Well if you power house engine builders never post here again there's enough info on this site to land a BBF on the moon. I'm sure it will pick back up hope so I read the news and it sucks so I click on here to learn something or see who having a pissing match always a good read either way
The late great record producer Jimmy Miller used to say that something was "dead" when it was awesome/great. "I sang my song to Mr Jimmy, he said one thing to me and that was dead".......
This place does seem dead. Lots of members from not long ago just don't seem to be on here much anymore. My post in Chilly's Garage has sat on top and untouched for almost 3 weeks now. That never would have happened a year or two ago.
I agree. I posted a small rant about that somewhere on this forum. It's not like we have personal banking info stored on here. It's a car forum for god sake. Why have such complicated passwords that nobody can remember. I would think they would want to make it as easy as possible for people to log in. I mean what is the worst that can happen with easy passwords? Somebody hacks The Mad Porters account and puts up a post that Chevy's are great? First they changed the look and feel of the site and then they made it difficult to log in. GOOD THINKING!! NOT!!
I have had multiple clients call me expressing frustration with not being able to recover their accounts and or log in.
A lack of timely response from the admin has really pissed some folks off.
Lol. Y'all should have seen the whine and gripe fest over on Pirate4x4 when it went down.
I had a deceased email over there... lots of us who emailed the admins quickly had our account information set with new email addresses and didn't lose anything. Vertical Scope has been ignoring those who didn't pipe up fast enough, and many members are sporting new handles and join dates. They have totally ignored folks on sites with less movement, like this one. No wonder everyone trashes them.
Shame really, but that's what happens when one company gobbles up everyone. Everyone gets ignored equally.
As far as activity here, I feel like we have too many sub forums for the amount of folks who actively post. It used to be simpler years ago, and stuff didn't get ignored by folks who don't surf the other sub forums. Feel free to disagree, but I think 5 sections of this board (minus the Garage and classifieds) could handle most questions with relative accuracy. I read most of the time, and am not the heavyweight for information like you professional regulars. Definitely not tired of what y'all have to say though, so please keep on keepin' on. Plenty of us here reading.
