Did the 460 ever use a morris silent chain for the timing chain? Or was the double row roller always used? I got into a debate with owners of SOB. (Some Other Brand)
Morse chain with nylon toothed cam gear for passenger cars.
Pictured below is the timing set from a low mileage 1968 429 thunderjet. Aluminum cam gear with nylon teeth.
Cam is splined to gear as seen in the picture.
I believe the carbed truck engines got a morse chain with an iron top gear (80's).
EFI engines were ALL straight up DOUBLE ROLLER SETS.
I'm pretty positive I threw one of those in the trash when I installed a straight up Cloyes doubler roller on the truck years ago. Probably the iron one Scott mentioned.
