Scat 9000 4.5" @ 770hp

Assuming the machine work, assembly, tune and are correctly done, will a Scat cast 9000 4.5" crank in a 557, peaking at 6100, live long? The engine is arleady built and dyno'd - just trying to get a feel for longevity and decide if it's worth having the cast crank swapped for a forged unit.

Intended use is mud, sand, and plenty stop sign to stop sign.

Build specs:
  • CR = 11.7:1
  • Vehicle weight = 5400lbs
  • gear ratio 5.39:1
  • tire size = 42.5"
  • C6 with a flash stall of 3400

Understood - The first trans busted the input shaft off in the tq convertor.

The current unit is a Broader Performance wide ratio unit (rated at 1000hp) with his billet convertor in front of it.

Hey Bob, it's not the same engine that Carl built for me.

Thanks for the feedback.

I ran the crap out of a SCAT 9000 4.3 stroke crank with a motor making somewhere around 800 HP for years and never had an issue. I took it to 8000 RPM quite often. I ended up parting the motor out during my next build and sold the rotating assembly when done with it. It was fine and is running in a different motor now. I wouldn't worry about it.
