old paint

About 10 years ago I bought a gallon of primer and a gallon of satin black paint to paint the car trailer. Never got around to it, and over the years I've used most of the black.

Primer is Ace store brand called "Rust Stop" for equiptment and machinery. It has never been opened till today. An inch of the bottom was solid so I poured out the liquid and broke the solid up into small pieces then added liquid back to it while mixing it up. After awhile I got it mixed up to where it looked normal.

What do you think, is it usable?
I prepped and primed the underside of one of the fenders on the trailer as a test spot.

Does paint get old and unusable even if its sealed up then mixed thoroughly?
Doesnt need to be perfect just something to cover and protect it.

Thanks.............ron

Depends on the type of paint and if it is a catalyzed paint or if it just relies on the off gassing of solvent to cure it sounds like its just a 1 part paint so you should be fine it might need to be reduced with a little of the proper solvent. I wouldn't use this under a finished paint with out a good epoxy sealer over top and then you still might have problems with delamination. But that being said if your just going to spray your trailer with it I'd go for it worst case scenario it needs to be sprayed in 3-5 years

Thanks , I knew there was more to than "old paint". I poured the liquid off it , broke up the solid into very small pieces , then added liquid back to all the while mixing it . First coat looks ok. Thanks again...............
