Flywheel tooth count for toploader conversion

My internally balanced 1971 Mercury Thunderjet 429 is ready and I have rebuilt the big in/big out toploader that's going behind it. Next up is a flywheel.

The old C6 flex plate has a 164-tooth count. I see there are 164-tooth flywheels available.

But there are far more offerings for a 176-tooth flywheel.

I know you guys know, so please save me some time: Which flywheel do I need?

Thanks in advance.

whoa up a sec... depends on which bell housing your going to use?

351m400 takes a 184 a real 429 bell takes a 176

both use the same starter, either a 351m,400,or a 429 460 starter

Interested in this because I have a 1970 460 I am trying to sort out to run a toploader. I have a bell housing and motor plate to suit and bought a flywheel with 164 teeth. This was too small. Going by Boss 429's answer above the 176 is the correct flywheel. What is the 164 flywheel for then? And if I go ahead and buy a 176 tooth flywheel, can you run 11 inch clutches on these?
