Been back working on the truck for the last 2 weeks or so. It began with the issue of a no start no power to anything one morning. Was going to hall a friends truck to the bodyshop. Didnt happen. Took several days of working with a crappy repair manual with an even crappier wiring diagram in it. Didnt even show the 86 F350 carb wiring. Traced it to a splice under miles of factory tape wrapping. The splice fell appart just before the unrapping process reached the splice. A bunch of greenish powder fell out. The portion of the wire heading to the solinoid had nothing but the green like crud 1 1/2" up the insulation before hitting copper. This dosnt happen over nite how was the truck even running all these years.
This lead to a compression check and the begining of removal of the old heads and cam. The new heads and their parts werew dug out of the back bay and several other areas of the shop. A head assembley check is on going.
