It Lives!!

Well, it's finally running. I posted this short video on Facebook, this is supposed to be viewable to anyone.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...19567155915793

I took the video with my cell phone so the sound is distorted. The process is slow but I'm still chopping at it. This is with 3 chamber flowmasters.
Question fellas, will bullet mufflers, will this be a lot louder? My guess is yes.

E98

So I got my drum of E98 today and this is the only label. I also found a calculator for mixing but I would test it to make sure. I was expecting the label to tell me what the other 2% was. Parts of me wonder if they gave me the wrong drum since it doesn't have the 2% and just says grain alcohol. I'm still doing research and was hoping someone more knowledgeable could chime in.

Well I have 14.1 compression and my uneducated guess was thinking more like E87. I was messing around with this calculator and also used 120 for the octane rating of the 98 and 105 for the 85. I plan to do a test to confirm the percent. I just want to make sure the engine has enough octane. http://www.intercepteft.com/calc.html
After looking into it more, It seems like I should be mixing it with 87 octane.

Well, I finally have some updated pics. Car is running and it feels good on the butt dyno. This week I should be able to start getting the interior back together. I don't have slicks or the funds at this time to buy any so I'm going to just have to wait it out on taking it to the track. Next inline is installing interior and putting plates on it.

Update it's been a while

So, it's been a while and now I'm ready to update.

Well, the car has been great.

October 2014
About a year and half ago. I stopped on a clear street to romp on it. Well stalled it up and let it go and it just lit up the tires, 1st, 2nd, when I hit 3rd (still violently spinning) the passenger rear lugs all shear off. The car hit the curb and proceeded up the street in the grass side ways. I braced myself because I thought it was going to roll as soon as that axle caught the grass. It never rolled just slowly turned around to a stop. ripped off the wheelie bars and parachute, some quarter panel damage, tub damage and a couple of bent wheels, mufflers were out on the street. Needless to say my heart just sank.

I had did some research on why the studs broke. I felt like a dumbass because I trusted my impact when tightening my lugs. So why my baby is sitting on the garage floor with dirt and grass shoved in every orifices possible. I put a torque wrench on ALL the lugs left on the car. I set the torque wrench to 60lbs and they all turned without a click.

Needless to say I go over all my lugs quite regularly, I don't even use the impact anymore, except I have a electric one that torques to 100lbs then I put a torque wrench and take it up to 110lbs.

March 2015 Car is back together. I have to admit, I was a little gun shy on romping on it like that for a while. Even felt weird when driving by the spot where it happened since it was right behind my house.

June 2016 Finally got it to the track, I couldn't wait anymore. I don't have slicks yet so I took it up on Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pros. Had them down to 9lbs with no luck with hooking up. Overall, it was an awesome experience, I got some seat time and now I have my confidence back. So, I am now selling stuff so I can get me some slicks.

Best run on the sportsman pro:
I had to leave off idle and pedal it past the 60ft mark 1.9 before hammering it and holding and it ran a 7.45 @ 102 mph in the 1/8th. I still have 4:10 in the rear. Slicks should help quite a bit.
Once the car hooked, it booked. So excited to get it back on the track.

I attached some pics from the wreck. That's the guy that put it on his wrecker. And a pic of what it looks like now.

Hey BluMach,

If you want to hook up, get rid of the Mickey Sportsmans Pro tires.

They are nothing more than overgrown BF Goodrich tires.

If you have to have M+T get the ET Streets.

Otherwise a set of Hoosiers or McCrearys will work good on the street or track and provide the grip you need.

I had the Sportsman Pros that were just spinning all over the place

After I replaced the Mickeys with the Hoosiers, my et went from 12.88 to 10.36

Still got my Blue 69 Mach 1....its next to get some love and get back on the street - yours looks SWEET!

thx for the update, sorry about the crash...amen to Bajarick, I am running Hoosier QT Pros on mine, havnt tried em yet, but my Buds 496, 10Sec Nova was pretty tight on the street with em, so they worked for him, they will work for me..

Hey, what springs do you have on the front, love the ride height, I got the Moroso tricks on mine and it looks like a damn gasser, havnt settled a bit..I could cut three coils but then I have stiff springs, whats the point.

Also would love to see a close up of your water pump, fans I got no room..using a CVR Elec, and have .25 between the motor and the rad core. So I have to notch my core support a bit more and use a pusher?

So, on the tire issue I just picked up some Hoosier slicks. A buddy had a good set and he gave them to me today. I will try and take them in tomorrow to get switched over.

And that is so encouraging to hear out you picking up so much from switching to slicks.

Here is the link to my front shocks, I have a set of 400 and 500lbs springs. I have 400 in it now. The shocks are double adjustable and I can swap out the top plate to change my ride height if I want to. They give you a baseline setting for street, drag, and road racing, and I can change the setting on the fly by just turning my front wheel.

Here are pics of my waterpump and fan situation. The second pic is an older pic hence the cleanliness and no headers. The first pic I just took.

Thanks, that water pump, fan set up looks really familiar, what mounts and headers you using.
Mine is just as tight. I found 8 in fans from Perma Cool, that pull 2400 CFM each, at only 4 amps each, so I am mounting one on each side of the pump snout, as low as I can to the pump.
If that doesn't keep it cool, Ill add a pusher.

Looking good, I need to update mine. just spend more time working on the car than the computer these days.
