c6 shift lever swap

So I've got 2 c6's. One, I think, if from a 1975 truck (d5up) and is a fresh rebuild. The other is from a 72 lincoln that came free with my engine. The truck trans is column shift and the lincoln is a floor shift. I'd like to put the floor shift linkage on the newer rebuilt trans. Is it a direct swap? anything else from the 72 that's worth swapping? Thanks guys

should swap right out.
7/8 or 13/16 wrench is needed if I recall, and a pair of channel locks.

If either of the transmissions are old and crusty you might want to replace the orings, otherwise should be easy.

Remove the valve body.

Pay special attention to the detent position in relation to the manual shift valve in the valve body as well as the k/d lever.

Remove the 1/2" nut from the k/d lever.

Remove the 7/8" nut from the shift assembly.

The shift arm can now be pulled out.
Now would be an excellent time to replace the seal and "O" ring.

Reverse the procedure.
