C6 Servo Springs-whats the best choice?

Regarding C6 servo springs: I have a choice of using an N code and a P code servo.
Now from what I understand, the P code has more surface apply area than the N...BUT the N code servo has a much stiffer but shorter yellow spring than the longer/softer orange spring in the P code.
I am looking for the best possible second gear shift out of this combination of parts. Am I correct in thinking I should use the stiff yellow spring from the N code servo in the P code??
Can someone please shed some logic on how these springs operate with regard to shift timing/etc.??

yellow spring

thanks for the info Frank,

The shorter yellow spring that was originally with the N-code servo has .135/.140 wire diameter so I will use it with the P.
