Pushrod length checker?????

Hey, I'm trying to get the length of the size pushrods I need to order. I have a comp cams 7902 checker....think i have the intake length, when i try the exhaust, the rod keeps bending!.....WTF!! Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but this puny little 5/16 checker is a POS! A-460 block, TFS A-460 heads, .796 comp cam, comp lifters, rockers,.....any suggestions????...once you straighten the rod it only bends faster.....I need help!!!!! Thanks,
