Yeah, I was there. Black mustang spun into the wall on the 2nd or 3rd pair. I was glad to see the Jeff J. got the rug doctor mustang down the track in one piece. He's on here every so often.

So no Pro Stock Fords in Gainsville. Why? Are they down on power? Is it the car?

Last I saw at the end of the third qualifying session both Morgan and Enders were in the field. Must have got bumped out in the final session. Didn't hear what they ran.

Ya gotta remember, conditions were real odd with 20+ mph tailwind and everybody had to make quite abit of adjustment to take advantage,[plus the new rule changes], pretty tough, when you have no idea what your tuning window is, with a new combination! The Fords will be tough before the end of the season!

:-)

I'm hoping so. I wish Bill Glidden was doing Pro Stock with a new Ford. He is about as good as they come at doing the best with what you have. With good parts and some money he would be hard to beat. Just my .02 worth.

I read where Morgan said that they were already making more power than the Mopars but, that they were having piston burning issues. He says they are not sure exactly what was doing it but that they would get a handle on the tune and they were making progress.

I think they are doing very well with a brand new motor, car and program.

Probably that Chevrolet cylinder numbering that is causing the problems! LOL!

No Fords in the 16 car field. Why? I searched the internet and can't find anything. If the Fords are making the power, they should run the numbers. The chassis doesn't know what kind of powerplant is between the frame rails. Are the Mustang's aero numbers good? I thought they were.

Still down on power some. John Nobile ran a 6.591 and Morgan ran a 6.599 friday but that was the best of the fords. Still down about 2mph.

Larry keeps saying they have the power. He said he has more power than last years Mopar. I think it's in the chassis and the bellhousing.

They did have a very fast 16 car field to get in. This isn't nascar, where a new combination[toyota] is encouraged to qualify the first year out, [by finessing the rules]. It's headsup racing in NHRA [hopefully]!
