(P.S.: Answer: ship cost is not enough to worry about, can even do a USPS Priority Mail flat rate if need be.)

Hi Paul,
I did end up going another route on the engine block. I bought the 827" Hemi parts motor off the classifieds a couple weeks ago.

Regarding your cover; I'm interested in a cover with cam drive, but I have a Jesel belt drive. Would your cover work with the Jesel? Or can it be modified to work?

Thanks, Gordon

Jesel belt drives and HFD Quick Change Timing Covers do not have any interchangable parts as manufactured, and the belt drive depends on its front cover casting for support. In this particular case, I think that modifications would be extensive. If you are asking because you wish to cover up your belt then I would recommend fabricating a cover for the belt drive setup that you already have.

I want to run the cam drive. Hmmm, maybe I ditch the belt drive.

With the belt drive, you could leave it as is and then run a belt-driven fuel pump from your crankshaft. Another option is to run the belt drive with the typical Enderle/Hilborn (etc) cam driven fuel pump positioned several inches in front of the belt drive and affixed there on a support that looks similar to the crankshaft supports seen on the lower end of blower engines. In my personal opinion, those two setups appear more convoluted, "busy," and are less service friendly (ie, higher service effort) than our modular componentry which is more compact, self contained, and which allows the use of only as much or as little of the specific parts necessary for the engine build in question. Nevertheless, yes there are ways to run an external fuel pump with your current belt drive setup.

If you want to talk more about front drive setup options (both belt and chain) call me a call and we can discuss.

Cool

We now have a new, optional cover plate for our Quick Change Timing Covers. You may opt for this new cover blank which is thinner than the standard Cover Plate and isn't machined for use with a cam-driven fuel pump. This narrower cover blank provides greater clearance for the mounting of an electric waterpump directly to our cover. Also works great for jet boats or other engine applications which do not use a cam-driven accessory.

All Quick Change Timing Cover and Hex Drive pricing may be found at the top post in this thread.
