I have a 78 F250 with a gearvendors behind it. I can't tell from looking at the setup whether this transmission would be a long tailshaft or short. Is this the same as a car transmission as for as interchange? I know there are heavy duty clutch packs and or differences, but only need to know what interchanges easily. Would the shift linkage and shift operation be the same?
Measure your adapter, if it is about 16" long it is for the standard length C-6 that I have. But I don't know how many different one's are out there. Looking at the web site the short shaft model requires a output shaft change on the trans. http://www.gearvendors.com/aghr3s.html
Thank youi for the information. I will crawl under it and see what it measures. Fairly certaiin it is 16 inches though.
