guy's I looking for a small block site that has the great knowledge that this site has. My kid is looking to build a new motor for a old braket car that been in storage for 10 years. Its a 66 mustang with a 306 now. He's been also looking at the R&C motorsports front end kits and may atemp this over the winter?

Here's one, but it's not as busy as this site! http://www.network54.com/Forum/119417/

Don't know a forum but we have a fox with a 306 in it. Its a bracket deal, 10" tire n/a on alky runs 10.60's, this is a roller iron head motor, stock block. Car goes many rounds. What info you need? I have a 69 with a 472, I have a pretty good knowledge of what you are after.

well first off has anybody used the jegs/kaase small heads. and what kind of results and what there combo is. this car is a .030 over trw piston that was done 20 years ago with 351w heads that were ported at MPG.( this guy is the biggest rip off in the denver area I reported the exhaust side of these heads and picked up .30 thenths after he did his work) anyway soild cam torker intake and a c-4 5000 stall with a 5:43 gear w/29.5 tires and has run a best of 12.70 at bandimere. the debate is to build a windsor stroker or stick with a stroker 347 and use the same headers. Or just do the R&C motorsports kit and go with a big block w/A heads.this would require most likely a new back half.

we ran a set of ported windsor heads on our old 306 combo with a solid flat tappet and it went 10.90's in real good air. If you want a biginch smblk stick with the windsor stuff, the little strokers do not seem to live real good given its a bracket deal. The other downfall to a high powered "5.0" block is we split them in two about every 150 passes, the only option is an expensive aftermarket block. The BB will make way more power easier than the smallblock and be more reliable. I ran one in my 69 for years with the stk frt end no problem, went low tens and put 2' of air under the front tires. I am currently frt halfing the car with struts and setting the motor way back to handle a bit more power and put it way in the 9's. I think for the altitute if you want to go fast definatly do the biggest thing you can afford.
