Ken,

I had a nice phone conversation with Bret today and he said;;;; that you got a "little nervous" about pulling the engine any higher than the 6200 rpm that you did pull it. You all hadn't seen the horsepower peak yet and he would have like to have pulled it to 6500 rpm. He mumbled something about that it may have been closer to 700 Hp.

So 'ol buddy, the next time you all dyno your engine, let me send you some "Kentucky medicine" to help calm your nerves! Everybody always gets sqeamish the first time when it's their engine on the dyno, but then after a while you get used to it and can just about sleep through it.

Charlie,

I thought I said I thought the motor was likely to peak not far from where we were. The HP curve was starting to level pretty good. Anyway...no big deal just don't want to misrepresent anything.

As for dynoing not being a big deal...I too am still a bit nervous on new engine dynos though I've never had any serious issues with my own motors on my dyno yet.

As always Charlie...it's always a pleasure talking about...er I mean talking to you, despite what Lem tells me (LOL)!

Bret,

You're right, I'm wrong  ,,,, as in "stretching the truth". I was just wanting to harass my friend Ken Foster and tease him a little!

Have a good one!

Charlie some of your Kentucky sleeping medicine might have been in order....Just wasn't sure about drinking any in a dentists office.

This cam is supposed to quit about where we were, however in hindsight we probably should have pulled it to 6500 just to see. I should have it back in the boat this weekend for testing if my oil pan arrives. Armando's wife called today and said she's taking it to the plater tomorrow A.M. and would ask them to hurry on it. She's going to call me when she gets it back (Wed. afternoon?) and if it is finished, I think I'll have her next day air it to me just to get the jump on things! lol

It turned 5700 without really getting to "ring it out" last week in wichita. last year it would only turn 51-5200. Pretty sure it's going to be well over the century mark. It would run 95-98 last year.

Ken,

You're right. If you picked up 500 rpm against the pump, then the engine has got some balls. Like you say, it will be over 100 mph. Get used to it and be careful!
