chilly 10-24-2006, 05:45 AM 466 , 615 HP @ 6,000 RPM
578.2 pound feet @ 4,600 RPM
This was with 36 degrees total timing. 38 lost power 34 gained none. This combo was cammed specifically to peak at 6K.
RHP D0VEs (before chamber upgrades)with Victor as cast port match. 365/210 cfm
RHP ported victor
RHP dizzy
Eagle SIR's
BG 1,000
KB 137 flat tops
Comp cams XR280R 242/248, .657" / .664, 110 LSA
2" headers long tube.
This was for a client in texas. The dyno operator was testing and stated that the dyno is known to be stingy vs two other dynos in the area. I am awaiting copies of the dyno sheets. Just got the news this afternoon.
I was kind of taken back by the above 600 HP peak at only 6K RPM
I feel this combo could make 650 HP at 6,500 with more cam.
Thoughts???

kyle102565 10-31-2006, 12:06 PM really good numbers, seems almost too good.
Lem Evans 10-31-2006, 02:28 PM Imo , that's the best thing about most 385 combos......it's not the power they make but where they can be made to make power......not turn them to moon to get it done .
Oh yes , that thing would love more cam 8)

Man that thing is as good as a 514 creat motor but only 466. I bet its cheaper too.

codycr6 11-26-2006, 05:56 PM Looks like a good budget combo... any idea what it would pick up with a set of aftermarket heads (TFS A-460, Victor Jr.) and a little more cam? Will the A460 heads or Victor Jr. clear the valves on a 466?
stevefretz 01-16-2007, 06:55 AM I would like to learn more about this build to use in my Ranchero. Thanks Steve
hotrodder 01-16-2007, 10:48 AM Im using a set of TRW dome's (L2443NF's if i remember right) on the motor for my new dragser - can anyone tell me if i would manage to run that much cam lift without coming in to problems?
BB68coupe 01-16-2007, 07:31 PM what do you think this combo would make with box-stock TFS streets? If one were to build one of these, what kind of trans mods need to be done to a C-6?
GECSR 01-17-2007, 01:38 PM You have email!
Thanks!
i would also like to know about the above combo with otb tfs streets? thanks!
MauriSSSio 04-16-2007, 07:15 AM it seems to me that box stock TFS heads have never been run before.Im building an engine that will have OTB TFS heads but itll be a while before its done.

same here..mine may even see ported stockers first. And probably a solid FT cam. Ive decided not to spend so much on it. A warmed over 472 will be plenty fast enough to start with.
WerbyFord 05-26-2007, 02:59 PM I maybe a bit out of date, are these new aluminum heads / modern chambers or just ported D0VE as in 1970 Ford iron Thunderjet iron? :?:
Was the 365/210 cfm at about .700 lift? :?:
Might you have the flow at .500 lift? :?:
In any case, I computed this combo with TFS A460 heads and got:
Torq 597 at 4600
Power 637 at 6300
(For the other post that was asking this....)
That is just a computer though.
The dyno info is very valuable! :)
Brad Johnson 05-29-2007, 05:32 PM Comp cams XR280R 242/248, .657" / .664, 110 LSA
See boys and girls, you can make more power with less cam.

bigpoppapreston 07-17-2007, 12:20 AM i know this is an old thread chilly, but what type of gas are/were you running in that 466 with those kb137 pistons.
it's to my understanding that the compression ratio with those flat top pistons would be ~11.5:1. could you get by, by using some 110 octane fuel?
would like to know because i like those pistons and i'm considering to purchase some.

first Cody you can't put a set of TFS a460's on it without changing Pistons, or notching them. The second case unless you use an adapter plate the victor will not fit the A460 heads. But a good set of TFS streets would make it fly I bet.
