how about a 545 in bbf in a 64 galaxie!

we made 583 rear wheel hp and 770 ft lbs of tq

best time of 9.62 at 140 mph

What are the specifics on the build?

I would like to know as I am putting together a 545 for a big bodied mustang.

its a stock block 4 bolt caps and a main girdle,tfs street heads fully ported,13.5 to 1, .679 intake .671 ehx, roller cam i have to look up the duration,.30 over with a 6.7 rod and 4.5 stroke, tunnel ram with 2 holley 750 hps, roller rockers, 2.25 tube headers, and a powerglide, 2x3 tube chassis a arm, ladder bar, 4.11 gears and fiberglass from crites
all home built and it is 2800 lbs it runs a 1.40 60 ft we shift it at 6200 and it go's through the lights at 6500 9.62@140 we put 160 passes on it and all we have done is change the oil after each time out.

I'm a true Galaxie loven SOB, I've got a 1962 406 car that I've had for
a long time now, that's just my play thing. But, I really like 64's I've had
a few over the years and I can get a couple from a friend (one he got
from me) that I wouldn't be afraid to cut up to race. So, if you could post
some photos for all of us BBF (& Galaxie) lovers that would be great !!!

...2800lbs? damn, I am shootin' for 3800 in my '69 XL. That is a rippin' galaxie, love to see some pics.

I building a 631/2. what did you do to take off 1,400#. Now is my time to start triming, I've got it all apart. Any help wecome.

Yeah I too would like too see some pics of it all, Thats gettin with the program for a 64 Gal....and Damn 2800#'s Geeezz!!!!

I sold my 93 Hatch stang a couple of years back ...and was going to do a BBF coversion in it.... But I needed some money for a new Heat and A/C system for the house....

And those Old 63/64 Gals with big inch Motors and Tunnel Rams on them really get me going....

So I hoping for a good deal on a 64 that a friend has, He's not ready to sell yet..But I'am woking on him..lol....

This will be my Mid life crisis build....lol.. so I want to do it rught..and still be a street cruiser but with a Blast every now and then at the track...

BYW Lem if you read this....I have now about 80% of the money for the A460 Block..so real soon....
