Hello guys, I'm new to this forum. I am building a clone 64 T-bolt. The car will be primarily used on the street. I am working with a 429 early block. I purchased an Eagle 460 crank, Keith Black Hypereutectic .030 pistons, & Procomp aluminum heads. The pistons are dished with a single valve relief. The guy at Summit advised I should be around 10.0:1 compression. I haven't chosen a cam or intake. I will either use a Edelbrock Performer RPM or a Blue Thunder 2X4 intake. The originals with the 427's used a dual quad intake. The procomp heads were purchased bare. I will take the advice to have them cleaned up and ported, using good hardware. I will be running a Ford C6 auto tranny with a shift kit. I am looking for some advice if I am on the right track for a nice street car pushing around 500HP area.

In a 1996 issue of Car Craft in an article entitled Extreme Machines there was a Thunderbolt clone with a single 4 757 hp 514 stroker. If your clone is as cool as his it will ROCK :!: :!:

Good luck with your project :!:

Your on the right track. Talk with one of the head porters from this site. I'd go with a single 4 850 or bigger on a Victor. Headers from Crites.

I'm in the process of the same thing also. I had a post last week or so of my car in chilly's garage. Its for my wife.

I have Crites, I believe gen 1 crossover headers. Jessica from Crites advised that if the exhaust ports are raised, their headers will not work. I believe they will only work with stock and CJ heads.
