I just got done smashing a 460 and c6 into my 63 galaxie, now does anyone know what I can do for a drive shaft? Is there one from another car that just bolts in? Any ideas? Thanks

I had a 4" chromoly, thinking 4" anyways, because the 390/cruise o matic was too long. I also used the better u-joints as well. hotrod33 09-17-2007, 08:13 AM If you don't go with a completely new shaft you can always have yours shortened at a reputable driveline shop, it was really cheap the last time I did it just make sure to have it balanced also. 63XL514 09-20-2007, 09:47 PM I had one made for my 63 Galaxie that has a 514 and C6. It was about $225 but they went with thicker wall tube and did a great job balancing the thing. It helps is you have the input yoke for the tranny to measure from. They told me to slide the yoke all the way in, pull it out about an inch then measure from the center of the u-joints front and rear. It turned out great. I just don't remember how long it was but I could check and see what mine is if you like. Dave PSE 09-26-2007, 10:31 PM Thanks guys, I think i just have to have one made. .. | |
