Does anyone know what to torque the front band in a C-4 to?( The one closest to the converter) One guy told me to snug it up with a small wrench then back it off 1 turn. Is this right?

Factory specs go 10ftlbs and back more. 10 just feels way over tight and the end results are the same. Chad G 09-19-2007, 02:32 PM I adjusted it to 10lbs and then backed it off 1.5 turns. Should it be less than finger tight? I can tighen it up about 1/2 turn with my fingers. It seems real loose to me is this right? The first time I tried it it did not have first gear. I then adjusted it again and it seems fine now. Frank Merkl 09-19-2007, 06:47 PM Factory spec is 10 ftlb's or 120 inlb's and back it out 1 3/4 turns , if you tighten it up to much it will have the band dragging on the drum and smoke it fast Frank s_stang 09-19-2007, 09:33 PM Is the threads course or fine???? Some consider the later C-5 case a C-4 so the adjustment is not the same.. 10 foot lbs then back off 1 3/4 C-4 10 Foot lbs and back off 4 1/4 C-5 case (Fine Thread) Laters! | |
