Can i swap a intermediate rubber servo for a aluminum one?
c-6 servo?nuclearcobra 09-20-2007, 06:53 PM Can i swap a intermediate rubber servo for a aluminum one? gregaust 09-20-2007, 08:07 PM Yes ,but the pistons and covers must match. nuclearcobra 09-20-2007, 10:35 PM I also have a leak from the shifter shaft i bought the seal for it but am wondering if its leaking because i took off the downshift lever which had a oring behind it so i cleaned out the shaft with brakeclean and filled it with rvt now that i have the pan off to put in the tci manuel reverse valve body i see that the shaft moves back and forth. Should i put the oring back in with the downshift lever on ? The reason i asked about swaping the servos was the directions said to leave it alone if its rubber and if its aluminum to grind it in three places and tap n plug the netural hole so if its the aluminum kind i was gonna swap it for the rubber one piston, cover and all as one piece from another c6, also it said to use only 6 of the 8 bolts to put the valvebody back in why is that? And the rubber servo feels like metal to me. richter69 09-20-2007, 10:37 PM sounds like the rubber is hard as a brickbat, maybe the reason for a lazy shift. nuclearcobra 09-20-2007, 10:51 PM I did'nt get the servo out of the trans thats in my car yet to see if its rubber or the aluminum one the trans i pulled it out of was an old one sitting on the floor and the fluid was dark brown the one i put in my car had brite red fluid and clean i was gonna put a B and M shift kit in it but bought the full manuel reverse valvebody from tci instead .do you think my shaft leak is from taking out the oring and filling it with rvt? By the way Lenny says hi he said his first dollar made on his wall is from you Jon. |
