Powerglide Question

Ok i know it's not Ford but a few of you guys use powerglides.
At what point do you upgrade the output shaft to a aftermarket type ? or how strong is the factory output shaft. Just repaired one that was twisted but there was a driveshaft issue also which may have contributed to the problem.. Thanks

Most of the aftermarket pg's that are rated at 850 use the stock output shaft. It's only when you get above the 1000 mark that they start adding them to the units.

The yoke wasn't in the transmission right and the start of the splines were twisted,maybe caused by the yoke not supporting the splines?????? The rear bush was spun in the housing too.Was a mess.All back together now and was making 600+ RWHP on the dyno yestaerday so it's all good.

I personal use a $100.00 aftermarket tubo spline in mine.
