Re: 82 seville rear caliper
Does anyone know how to compress these calipers to get new pads to fit. They are the ones with the parking brake lever on the back.
I'm stumped.
8 parts guys are stumped.
the Mac tools guy wasn't quite sure.
I'm smurfin the interwebness and coming up blank.
I know one of you guys knows how to do this and i'm pretty sure i'll feel dumb when i get the answer.
thanks,

they twist in(assuming the calipers are the same for an eldo), i can't believe the mac tools guy wasn't able to set you in the right direction, you can get a "universal" "twist-in tool" from any parts store..... here's a link to a pic and description of one.... http://www.partsamerica.com/productdetail.aspx?MfrCode=PBI&MfrPartNumber=648410&CategoryCode=3479
hope this helps....

eldo and seville are the same from 80-85 ish.
But i'm not sure that's how they work.
Do you have a set of those calipers on your car?

no, i did a brake job(all 4 corners) on a buddy of mine's 82 eldo, and they were that way on his, but in retrospect, i had to use a big pair of channel locks to turn them in, because the tool wouldn't work..... sorry, i had a brain fart... guess i was thinking about the brakes on my car, i have linc 7 stuff on mine....

Hollander #536-247R/L
ELDORADO 79-85 Rear
RIVIERA 79-85 Rear
SEVILLE 80-85 Rear
TORONADO 79-85 Rear
Channel locks? But there is an indexing notch in one location on the most inboard edge of the piston for the anti-squeak wire spring clip doodad. If you spin em in with pliers there you lose that index point.
hmmm. I'm pretty tempted to try though. 8)
