Sorry guys, I did do a search but typing in "fox swap" or "460 fox swap" brought up 6000 threads and none on the first couple pages detailed what I am looking for. I am a total noob when it comes to Fox chassis and BBF's. I am a Modular guy. I bought my first Mustang 5 years ago, a 96 GT and have done eveything imaginable to the car, suspension, forged motor, blower, blah blah blah. I just bought my first Fox a few weeks ago, an 88notch, love it. A friend had a 460 motor, C6 tranny, Hooker Super Comp headers to fit a Fox, a motor plate to fit a Fox and a drive shaft to fit a 460 into a Fox. He said he didn't have the money to put it in his fox and he sold me the whole kit and cabudle for $750. The motor and trans are out of a 77 F150 so i know it's only a 2 bolt main and not a D0VE block. The heads are D2VE heads, I can see the casting under the oil. My question is what does it take for the Fox swap? I am by no means a fabricator or wiring specialist. I turn wrenches pretty good but have never tackled something like this. Can someone give me a "list" of what it takes to do this swap? I think I have a lot of the pieces I need but I want to know what some of the hidden things I can expect or what the trouble spots are.
The car is currently an EFI 5.0. Can I still keep the car EFI using the EECIV computer and harness somehow? Are there manifolds out there that can accomodate this or do i have to go carb? I'm not adverse to carb, just no experience with them. Sorry about the long post guys. I really need to know where to begin here. I don't want to go spend a whole bunch of money on stuff if it's going to be beyond my scope to accomplish this. Maybe I should just stick with a 347 stroker and use the stuff in the car already. I really love this BBF idea though. I see what some of you guys have done with these motors and it absolutely amazes me. I want to give this a shot. Please help if you can. If there are any good parts websites those would be helpful as well. The motor needs to be rebuilt so I may as well go stroker If I'm going to do this. hat brands can you trust. I've seen some e-bay stuff but would be scared to buy from there knowing all the cheap Chinese junk out there. Any good stroker kits?

i swap a 429 in a 87 coulpe the place i got my parts was holcomb motorsports their number is 1-800-475-7223 and ask for W.L. he is a good guy you will need a swap kit and it will come with oil pan, pickup, dipstick, engine mounts and 2in hooker long tube headers and that will be 799.00 or get a canton oil pan for 939.00 then if you go c 4 you need a bellhousing that will bolt up to c 4 to 460. I used my a.driveshaft that was behind the 302 you will have to take the brake booster off and go manaul if you use the tall valvecovers they have a kit for that to. You need to check your converter to see if the pilot on the back of motor will fit they are two sizes on a 429 the stock crank has a littler hole than most converters but that no problem just have it cut down to the hole size.My car had a stock bottom end with edelbrock victor scj 429/514 heads with a 850 AED it run 640 on motor. I am now building a 521 and hope to run a lot better. had to learn the hard way if can help i will be glad to do so thanks,Big John
