Shooting for 11.50's ended up with best 11.97 @ 115.3, 1.795 @ 60ft, 7.683 and 92.1 in the 1/8th. I did allot of 12.0's ouch...
The car rolls up good and plants then just spins until I hit second.
Got an ugly video of a 12 second run getting taken by a GTO.

Car is 4000#
521 with Edel heads and 10.8 comp
FMS A443 cam, Holley 950HP.
2400 stall with C6, 3.82 gear and 28x11.50 QTP's
Lakewood 90/10's up front and CE adjustable on rear.
Car has traction bars.

I know that the stall is a little low but wont a higher stall hurt my traction problem?
Any suggestions?

I't looks to me like on the burn out the driver side tire is the only one spinning and then on the launch the passenger side tire lost traction. Posi problem???

The center section is a Detroit Locker. The video is just bad and I was doing a back to back run. The tires were still hot. sorry for the poor video

Hi,

Is the rear of the car lifting or squating? Is the front of the car getting raised if so how much? My old leaf spring car would hook raise the front then drop it. As it dropped it the rear tires unloaded..

Something else if the car is squatting, the axle could wrop up.. as ya get movement it unwaps and moves the weight of the car foward.

My 2c..

S Stang,
Your description is correct... it squats as the front goes light then it unloads and slips. It seems to spin after about 20 feet. Your recomendation is Cal-Tracs?
I have traction bars and it looks like the rear could squat a little more.
I have seen some people clamp the front of the leaf springs. Will this help?

Thanks,
Dave

I think we need to know if this is a daily driver or a race car.. The reason being making changes like springs ect can make the car no so nice on the street, if ya know what I mean.

What springs do ya have up front? Are the springs in the back replacement ones or stock?? Tell us about them..

If you have time go to this link and read bathroom scale method and go ahead and make the measurments..This way you know where your at and if you make changes you have a starting place.. Here is the link: http://bbs.hardcore50.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=16723

I know it seems like a lot of work but.. now you have information about your cars setup..

You can also measure your car's ride height.. necessary in figuring suspension..

Getting back to squat.. ya really don't want that.. Any movement is wasted motion.. If ya look at the car's using cal tracks you see the rear actually raise some. If you get some raise, it's using the body to push down on the tires.. it will be up to the shocks to control the movement..

Maybe do some of the stuff I mentioned above and add it to the thread..

Laters!

I use the cal-trac bars with fine results. The whole car lifts up and it just goes straight. Best 60ft. is 1.46 with a 3350lb. car. 10" drag radial.
Or you could just bolt on some slicks!!!

The car is a street car that will not get a cage and may go to the track where 11.50's are the limit. Springs are for a 351 factory setup. the info on the Hardcore website is good reading. i think that I can drop a few tenths with tuning and air pressure before I make other changes but I am close.
Thanks for the advice.
