power steering problems

just about have everything new on this truck,1979 ford half ton 4x4,put new power steering pump on lifted front with jack and put fluid in moved steering wheel back and forth as soon as shut the truck off it pushes all fluid out the pump can anyone tell me what is going on/thanks

Wellll.. Areation makes the fluid expand.. ya may wish to let it settle and try again. What are you using for fluid?

Ya don't provide any facts as to pump type / gearbox so we have to assume what ya got..

When installing a new pump you should never go lock to lock..
