Are any of you guys or gals gonig to enter "pinks allout" in may in memphis? If you are there stop in and say hello as I have entered my 63 fairlane 2 dr sedan and hope tp see at least a few of the folks on this forum. I've run a best of 10.20 at 132 so far but would like to lose a tenth or so to be close to the 10 flat area. My 10.20 was at a track altitude of 2800 feet that particular day. Any suggestions

I just watched a episode of Pinks All Out last night.
It was from St. Louis, Mo.
There was a huge storm bearing down on the event, so they really had to hurry up the show.
They were running cars at a feverish pace, and they had to choose quickly between two very tight fields of cars.

They chose a low 10 second class. Rich Christiansen was running them all out in succession very rapidly.

There came to a point where two cars raced, and one of them *possibly* jumped the start. Rich did'nt notice it, but other crew members swore the guy jumped.

However, there was no video evidence because the camera did'nt get the correct shot!!

They continued with the race, but the crew members swore that the wrong car had advanced to the semi-final and final round.

Due to time constraints, Rich did'nt feel like he had the time to dispute it because of a thunder/lightning storm that was quickly approaching the track.

They ran off the final two cars, and declaired a winner. They gave him the $10K...but then the controversey over the driver who jumped the start had to be dealt with.

The driver who jumped swore that did not, but his opponent said he did, as well as the rest of the crew members of the show.

So Rich Christensen admitted that he made a mistake, and stepped up big time to make everything fair....he awarded the opponent of the driver who jumped $10K also!!

So $20K was given away on one show 8) ......I think Rich did the right thing, and his willingness to admit a mistake and correct it, shows that he's a real sportsman himself....at least as far as this episode was concerned.

Did you guys watch it??

57 Custom. I'll be down there with my 64. Started looking for Hotels last night. I was surprised that Memphis took almost a month to sell 400 tickets. They are going to have some qualifying races early next year to fill the other 75 spots.

I was at Gateway last year. They sold out a lot faster.

After you go to it ,you won't be surprised about slow ticket sales..it's a circus and a joke...if your a racer ,you'll see real fast what's going on there. If you just want to show your car ,it's something you might enjoy. :roll:I had fun, but never again

Can't make Memphis but we may go to the Indy race. I agree with Dan, we had a good time but the faster cars are at a disadvantage because there are more cars in the 10.0 to 11.0 range.

But we DID have a good time in St. Louis at Pinks All Out

I watched the show where they gave out the 20,000.That was a very upstanding to do on Richs part....

I have also heard about what 56tbird is talking about,If you have a 10 to 11 sec. car you are in good shape but if your car is any faster you a without a doubt at a disadvantage.

I think that we are going to try Indy as well. I am hoping to get some things done to my car so it will run low 10's but things arent looking good so far this winter. I guess I can always throw a bottle on it and spray my was there. That just makes it hard to be consistent when they start hot-lapping you, as they always seem to do.

Did anyone see the list of racers on the Memphis website? They list the 400 cars that are registered with their estimated ET. The 10.00 and 10.50 ranges look huge. Seems to be quite a few cars in the 9's also. I recognized a few names from here on the list.

I haven't seen it live, but after editing and packaging for TV, it is better than all of lying and BS on the regular Pinks show. That show is just ANNOYING. :x

Well I'm in at the MIR show and my car run's mid to low 10's. I'm really just going to have a good time but the 10 large would be a good bonus. Wish me luck. There is also a couple others on the forum that are racing. Looking forward to meeting them.

Kevin,

Too many other races that I want to attend like the NMRA events and the Big Block Ford Bash. I'll use most of my vacation time and travel funds just to make those races.

I hope you guys get in the show 8)

As of now, we are planning on hitting 5 of the 7 NMRA events. Won't make Bradenton Florida or Atco New Jersey.

That's the PLAN anyway

We were thinking of going to Indy but that is the same weekend as the Muscle Car Reunion at Gateway. I'd rather go to it to see it continue to grow. It was pretty big last year. You guys need to bring the Mustang and Comet there not Indy :)

That sucks. Its a good thing they pay the 10 grand in cash. You don't have to worry about them spelling it wrong on a check :) .

I am not sure how many NMRA I will make this year either. I wont go to Atco or Bradeton either, but would like to make 3 or 4 others. We will have to see how the cash flow goes by then. I didnt realize that the Muscle Car Reunion was that same weekend. Ronnie went to it last year so we will both probably just go there instead of Indy. I just wish they ran some sort of an Index or open comp class. I hate that sprotsman tree after running pro-tree the past few years.

Casey, Mike and others, Good luck at Pinks All Out. Surely one of you will make the show 8)

Kevin,

I've been playing with my reaction time software and after leaving on the Pro-Tree, it's not easy getting back to the sportsman tree. I may have to tape up my windshield to block out the top 2 bulbs

Kevin do you run a .500 pro tree or a .400 pro tree? Do you have to deep stage that car to cut a light on a .400 tree? I've got my car set up to where I only look at the last yellow on a sportsman tree which puts me about a tenth late on a .400 tree. Only ran one once though maybe I just need a lot more practice.

The last few years we have run 500 pro-tree. WFC always ran 400 tree. To get a good light on the 400 I have to deep stage and I could then average between a .020-.040 light and was pretty competitive. When I run the 400 and then go run the 500 I would have to be careful or I would redlight after being "wired" in that tight.
