This has been a on going project for me over the past 4 years or so now.(in the mean time of building everyone else stuff)I found it on racingjunk a few years ago, and have decided to keep this one because of how clean it is.It had 73-79 460 ci 8.5 to 1 cam headers intake roller rockers and some other stuff (but still not what i was told it had in it). All lakewood suspension, all new wheels and tires, etc.I got it home and rewired it front to rear. car ran great and had lots of teething issues along the way.

here some pics of it with ps,pb,pw.after i got done rewiring it and redoing some other things.

Cars best in that state was 10.48 at 129 on a 225 shot with a 1.71 60'. after that i had some trans issues and then the motor broke...a few times. :bah:
ended up putting a different motor in it last year with some mixxed results.

so now over this winter im mini-tubbing her and upgrading the rest of the driveline to hold this thing on the bottle and/or maybe some turbos down the road.

All of your work will be worth it in the end. I wish I would have done more detail stuff like that on my Thunderbird. I got in too much of a hurry to get it on the road. Oh well, it does the trick.

I have been working on a 72 Nova for the wife, so I haven't been able to do much extra stuff on the 'bird.

YOUR CAR IS LOOKING GREAT GOT ONE QUESTION WHERE DID YOU GET SET UP FOR PULLEYS TO RUN ALT. ON LOW SIDE NOTICED IN YOUR PICTS.:D

alt brackets are stock for most bbf ford. these just came from a 74 car.
pulleys are from march. single groove kit. can be had from summit or jegs. i recommend summit, they stock them.jegs has to order them (at least for me they did). and thats a gm 1 wire alt with the long bolt hole drilled out to fit the ford bolt.

How did the car stop with the manual brakes....Just curious, as I am still trying to debate going manual (for a cleaner engine bay). I will be using the car on the street also....Just need to be safe with the little girl strapped in!

I am using stock Mustang 2002 GT rear brakes, and Cobra 13inch fronts.

Car looks great so far!

Also what fuel cell and Kirkey seat are you using?

stopped great..its all going to be in the pedal ratio when you redrill it..im thinking of getting the pedal kit from MM. dont stop like it did with power brakes but, not as bad as some people would lead you to believe.

jegs 10 gallon cell, kirky pro drag i think. ill check on that..

So when you were fitting the bars for the cage, what did you find to be the best way to get the tube notched for a good fit?

Did you use a pipemaster to get the contour or just hold the bar at the correct angle and draw a line, trial and error fitting?

I am thinking about getting a pipemaster, just wondering if they are worth it. They seem like a good tool to add to the collection for the money.
I have a hole saw type tubing notcher so far, The ol' joint jigger style.
