Heres our 1983 Thunderbird.
Started working on it a couple of years ago. We were going to paint it back to blue but I thought the old shine runner look was kinda cool.
Its a 466 with Sealed Power hyperutectics, eagle rods, Eddy heads, cam and intake. 750 DP Holley for now. Working out some bugs in the trans if the weather ever warms up here:mad:.

looks good, would look sick with a set of welds on it.
i got a 466 going into my 85GT, but going forged and 11:1's instead.

I shoulda went with forged pistons too looking back.
The Welds would look pretty cool on it for sure. I am trying to save up a few bucks for that.
I only paid $125 for the whole car at a local junk yard. I drove it home!! The car was oiled heavily its whole life to protect from the salt. Made it a real mess to work on until I got it all cleaned up. It sure preserved it well though. The only bad spot is right above the K member mounting points.:(

Its got a C-6 that I rebuilt. It was my first one:rolleyes:. It seems as though I still have some issues to work out.... I rebuilt it before I joined up here, it sure would have been easier with some input from these guys!!!
I thought I would be able to sell the 302 out of it. It is a carbed one though so no buyers. My bother in law blew the engine up in his JD lawn mower, maybe it needs Ford power?!?!

Thanks Bob, I'll do that!! I can only hope this runs nearly as well as yours did:)
I have some old slicks that a freind gave me to use.
Its been about 15 years since I've been down the track so the first few might be kind of embarassing:(, Oh well, practice makes perfect, eh?? I plan on going down on a Friday night TnT.
Our tracks don't open until the middle of April.

Bill I hadn't been on the track in 16 years . The last time was with my Montego and I was running mid 13's . I just got up there did my burnout and staged . As soon as the last yellow lit up I went for it and cut a .040 light . thats perfect . I did that 2 more times at .040 and .050 . I was foot braking the bird also . Then I started to wind the motor up higher on the line and red lighted and also pushed the tires through the beams .my first pass I even went a little easy and turned a 12.2 . then an 11.8 and then a string of 11.5s . Anyway just have fun with it . I know I did . And I know I will be going faster the next time after I do a little tweaking .
GOODLUCK
