I have a '68 Galaxie 500 with a Carburated 302 CID in it. I also have a complete, low mileage 460 CID & C6 drivelinethat I removed from a mid '70's Town Car.
I kept the front springs, Rad & mounts, & Tans cross-member from the Lincoln also.
Are there any other considerations that I should look at before attempting the "swap"?
EVERY comment will be welcomed.

Thanks,

JR

The Lincoln springs may be too much for the Galaxie. Big difference in frontend weight and the 302 springs are too light. Best to find out what springs were used in the Galaxie that used the 429 [1970 was the 1st year the 385 engine was offered in the Galaxie] Ford used different spring rates for diff. engines, A/C, Station wagon etc so you will have alot to choose from. One thing you didn't mention is the Galaxie rear end. What is under the Galaxie? I ask because I had a 67 Galaxie with a 289/auto. and it had some sort of Dana type with a tin back cover, obviously a light duty rear end and may not be up to the task of handling the power of the 460. The Lincoln most likely had a 9 3/8"/flanged rear end and not the much more common 9" with pinion yoke.
