hey rich i was thinking about coming to this race with my 69 mach, only thing is i've just finished this car which has never been done the strip before. it should run in the tens somewhere i would guess mid to high. i see that the index is 10.20 i'd hate to drive out there and make one run and go home. is there going to be any test and tune that day before the race if so do you know what time. i'm a newbie to drag racing it's been fifteen years since i bracket raced with my lightning pickup. any advice you could give would be appreciated

yes theres test and tune that day, if you want you could start in the s/m class also,
im sure we could fig something out, this series is open to all, bring your freinds

Went 9.8 @137 that day on what was supposed to be a 10.20 tuneup. Bottom 9s with a more aggressive tune.

you should of seen him,lol it was so funny how he won going into the final, the other car had him covered,but both pedaled because noone had a clue,lol you could of heard a pin drop at the starting line, it was tooo funny

Later Mark.Its a nitrous car. I use 47n/53f 10 slow it down to the index. We did a convertor and gear change for that day and had no Idea what it would run. The car picked up 4/10s so i was peddling all day to try to run a 10.20. pretty interesting to see the video of the nose dropping at the1/8 and come back up at 1200 feet.

Thanks for the information 4 tenths gain with changing the converter is pretty impressive.

Later Mark.The first convertor was waaaaaaay too loose, and we had a 4.78 gear in the car causing it to go through the traps at 7400+ which is a little higher than Im willing to turn a stock shortblock on a regular basis. So we tightened the convertor and went to a 4.11 gear and the car went waaay too fast(which in most cases would have been a good thing). Now I have alot more room and we're gonna test the REAL limits of a Truck rod 460 shortblock. BTW thanks for the compliments.

No problem,now if i could just get my junk to the track and get the bugs worked out of it.I built the car in 2004 and only had it to the track 2 times so far.Best run so far was a 11.318 at 119.460 mph and that was the first pass ever in the car.I think i have enough motor for 10's just have to get the bugs worked out.Later Mark
