Greetings!!!
I would like to receive any feed back or ideas regarding my plans to connect a 3.8L supercharger to my ported and polished but other wise stock 460 that came out of a Mark III Lincoln. I was told by several onlookers that the 3.8 might constrict the full potential of the motor. Others are saying that the pistons and or rods won’t hold. These are all coming from guys that only work on the little Jap toy cars which gives little respect to our Big Block's....so I’m a bit suspect on any advise they might offer when it comes to any BBF’s. When I found this site I was thinking what a great place to gather information on this project that I have in mind. So please any discussions on the pros and cons of this matter please shoot… Thank you and God Bless the Red-White and Blue!!!!

wrong section but to answer your Q i think that blower is way to small even if you over drive the you know what out of it, i dont think it is big enough.
I was wondering the same thing. I too pulled a 460 out of a 73 mark III, basically stock, and I was thinking about supercharging it. Probably a vortech but anyways i was wondering if the 460 will hold up. I was thinking about running it in the 6 psi area and it will do fine, but i am not sure either.

let me ask you one question? Have you ever drive a 460? or a stroker 460? you I guess have no Idea how much power and torque they make without a Power adder....
Let me give you a tip they are not 302's They build massive power and torque....

Even a mild 460ci build in say a fox body with decent gearing and tires will stomp on the majority of the import crowd. Get a little serious with the build and say goodnight. Not even in the same ball game. Humiliation.
I believe that 3.8l charger is an M-90. I have a roushcharger on my wife's 428R. It'll feed a 4.6l but I don't think its moves nearly enough volume for a 460.

Hey guys
I too am planning to Procharge a 460. I got a SVO Mustang that I am planning to build. I got 3.73's in the back. I plan on stepping down to a 3.27 or 3.08 gear. As far as the engine I am planning to use mild build with 9.1 forged pistons, Ederbrock 460 heads, Victor or Torker intake. C&S Blow thru carb. I am considering the Ederbrock RPM or a Torker cam. C6 tranny. 2500 stall. 10.5 tires (MT et Streets. I am looking to push 15-17 lbs of boost.:o

Not sure if that RPM cam will work o.k. with the Procharger.
You will need a cam with a LSA of at least 112 deg....somewhere between 112-114 LSA.
Torker II intake is a good choice. That 15-17 lbs of boost will require a big blower on 460 cu. inches. ( F1-A or F1-C...??)
