4thHorseman 04-29-2009, 09:33 PM I threw together a video of my junk for some pals out of state to see. In my garage and at our local mile high track here in Albuquerque, NM during a test-n-tune. Not my best n/a runs but I was trying different things with the tune. Correction for the altitude is about -1 second and +10mph. This is a fresh motor combo in a street machine.

1BADBIRD 04-30-2009, 04:11 AM Nice car , sounds bad *** and runs good .
4thHorseman 04-30-2009, 04:07 PM Thanks!
I had run a best up here of 11.4 third pass ever on the new motor with 3.89's in the rear. I switched to 4.33's and slowed down .2. Doh! So I just swapped them back. Trial and error right? Just bolted in some 1.8 rockers to attempt to use more of the P-51's under the hood. I'm shooting for corrected 10 flats on the motor once I get it sorted.
Also, I yank the tires about 6 inches then bounce a little as she leaves. I have to tame that. I think my rear shock are too weak and front's come down too quick.
spoiler 04-30-2009, 06:50 PM way cool video, congrats nice ride
Very nice considering the D/A...
Tell me about your sumped tank...
custom stock unit?
aftermarket?
4thHorseman 04-30-2009, 10:30 PM Its a stock '69 gas tank. I made a removable 6"x4" lid on the rear, top center. On the bottom rear centered I installed an AN-10 bulkhead fitting and run the line up to an A-1000 mounted to the floor just in front of the tank. An AN-8 bulkhead is on the passenger side just a few inches from where the stock float assembly plugs in and is the return. The only issue I have had is the gas cap is original with a dry rotted gasket and spills gas out on the rear bumper on launch so I ordered a new billet one. Hopefully that stops it.
70bbftorino 05-04-2009, 05:34 PM good looking car, nice runs. how do you like those electric dumps? i was considering them down the line here-
nickbay 05-04-2009, 07:14 PM Love the car, I own a 69 mach1 cj and of course a 67 coupe.
Keep up the good work.
Great video.
PACE545 05-05-2009, 12:46 PM Great looking 'stang! You should have no trouble dialing the car down to high 10's n/a. I'm hoping for the same results with my 545" - '73 Mach-1 . What is the diameter and stall speed of your convertor?
4thHorseman 05-05-2009, 02:48 PM Thanks for the compliments.
I picked up the electric cutouts as my intensions have been to run the car on the street. I love them for this purpose. I wouldn't think they flow as well as wide open collectors but they seem to get it done.
I'm running a generic 3800 stall TCI 10' nos converter. I'd think its stalling closer to 4000 behind my BBF. I am told I may not want to put much more converter in it in that I'd blow thru it on the nos. I plan to get a nos controller and up the shot but have it come in gradual.
I've run uncorrected 11.4's with 3.89's in the rear. I dropped down to 11.6's with 4.33's so I just swapped them back. I had a hard time running at this altitude. I used to run a 10 sec '93 f-body at Houston HRP... fastest track in the country. Now I'm a friggin' mile high. Zzzzzzzz. Oh well.
rat poison 05-06-2009, 04:36 PM Nice car!I can't believe you could call it junk! How did you get the side bars to fit around the door panels?I have my panels off and it looks like sh#t sure would like to put them back on like your's.That is one beautiful car!
rickyd 05-07-2009, 09:07 AM cool viedo cool car what do you have for mufflers and have ya made a pass thru them
Brenden 05-07-2009, 03:46 PM Great looking 69. Love the Boss 9 look in Black. Hopefully plan on having one just like that one day. Currently in the process of putting together a 545 for my brothers truck. Keep pluggin away you have a lot more left in that car. Even for the altitude.
4thHorseman 05-08-2009, 02:09 PM It has 3" 3 chamber Flowmaster's on it. They were there when I bought the car with a stroker Cleveland under the hood. Not my first choice but I've been concentrating on other things first. Its pretty quiet when its all corked up. Sorta hides its potential. I don't think I've every made a pass with it corked up at the strip. Plenty on the straight, long desert road by my house but I have no clue about ET.
