I was wondering if anyone has done a cheap 460 swap on a fox body? I have one that's getting a 460 and c-6 swap but wanted to do it on a very tight budget. Or if you have a link to a junkyard/diy swap that would help. This project just kind of fell into place and I do have a another built bbf powered 65 f-100 that is my real project. I just wanted to see if this car could be done on cheap. I was looking for info on the manual brake conversion and maybe some onethat used stock manifold and other parts from the cars to make the swap
Thanks,

i am building a super cheap car, its a 84 mercury zephyr, stock 90 model 460 motor converted to carb, maybe stab a rv cam in it and a c6 tranny with 3.55 gears, should be putting the motor in the car this week sometime, will be using the hooker swap mounts and factory exhaust manifolds running 2.5 in dual exhaust with quiet mufflers

The I run right now is a hurt 460 with a Performer RPM intake and cam with stock heads and rockers.
C6 small stall
3.55 gears
homemade motor mounts made with roll bar tubing
customized the tranny mount
Cut drive shaft
boxed in the lower control arms on the rear
Good carb and fuel pump
Mini spool and stock alxes for 6 years now
Shift at 5000
3200 pounds with driver
The run in that photo is a 12.10 at 110 MPH with a 1.66 60 foot if I had at lease a DOVE head I think it would run high 11's
A good motor like mine I think would run mid 11's
Do a seach on here and you will find a lot of info on this and good luck

The engine in the photos and videos on my supermotors link was pretty much a budget build.
Originally I rebuilt a junkyard D3 headed 75,000 mile 460 with a Performer RPM cam/intake/fuel pump and 830dp with a junkyard C4/converter. We had a 9" rearend in it. I used the Hooker headers and homemade motor mounts. No porting or machine work done, only the above slapped together and ran 12.30's.

You need the right oil pan first found on 80's trucks or get the motorsport pan kit , not bad price . I used sbc mounts on mine , drilled bottom hole to 7/16 and drillled a hole between top two holes the distance from top to bottom on the block . Made adapter out of 1/4 x 3 inch flatstock to bolt to k-member and used camaro frame mounts . I used late 70's truck manifolds . stock mustang trans x-member with mustang mount . And I had to shorten the driveshaft 2 inches with a truck C-6 trans . Use the sbc car mounts they set the engine 1/2 lower .
