at Beech Bend in Bowling Green, KY. Guys maybe we should all plan on another little get together like we've had at Beech Bend the past few years. I think last year we all went out to dinner at O'Charley's and the year before it was at Rafferty's. That night we were fingering cylinder head ports in the parking lot, along with a few other mischievious activities:). Food for thought?

The NMRA World Finals @ B.G. is my favorite event of the year. Hopefully I'll have the 512 in the Turbo Coupe by then and try my hand at Open Comp.

Yep,.....

I attended the 08 event Finals and I'm planning on it this year as well (providing I can get time off work)

I really wanted to go to the Bash this year, but I just couldn't swing it money wise.

Uncle Charlie, that sounds good to me. Me and dad should be up there as long as there is no unforseen things happen. I loved the Rafferty's meet and greet a few years ago and last we did not get to make it. So we plan on being there just let us know when and where!

Dan,

If you run bracket you don't have to pay the dues. If you run O/C with us again then you will however you are a member for a year so if you joined October of last year then you should still be a member October of this year, correct?

Pluse you HAVE to be there, who's going to help Tracy and me drink Margaritas and then assault the lawn tards? :p

You know it would also be a good time to just grill some burgers or what ever at the track one night and all that can make it just gather in the pits. I wouldn't care to be one of the host pitters. We could get more than one grill together and charbroil some dead meat. I will also be bringing my smoker again this year, smoked some ribs, chicken legs and some brats. It will hold around 30lbs of meat if anyone wants to join in! The ribs just fell of the bone. I make up my own rubs and I haven't heard any complaints yet. Just an Idea. I know Blake, Damon, and some of the guys did it last year, but I wasn't able to stay that time.

We also need to try to get together on Thursday morning and go in together so we can maybe pit next to each other. You know what they say, There is strength in numbers. Anyone interested?

Grillin and Chillin at the track! Friday night we usually go to Raffertys (The BBF Guys).

However I'm open to other options, but consider how crowded it will be at most restaurants

I was looking at the ticket prices schedule for the World Finals and saw something that threw me off.

The Bracket III ticket price for Thursday thru Sun. is $ 150.00
The Bracket III ticket price for Friday thru Sunday is $ 65.00

???? They want $85.00 to race on Thursday ?

Thursday –Sunday - Drag Race (NMRA Brackets III) Participant: $150.00

Friday–Sunday - Drag Race (NMRA Bracket III) Participant: $65.00

http://www.nmradigital.com/tickets/event7.php

I'll just wait till Friday ! :D

edit: If I read their site correctly, I could buy a $ 65.00 B3 racer ticket for 3 days and save 5 bucks over the $ 70.00 3 day spectator ticket. :D

Must be a type-O. We get there Thursday and pay $150 to race all weekend in O/C. Friday to Sunday it's like $135.

Exactly my point, Grilling at the track with some cold ones, AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO LEAVE A TIP!
What about Sat afternoon on the grillout?
Maybe Blake can chime in on this one.

We (a BUNCH of us) always pit in the "squared" circle right before and at the scoreboard.

We (a BUNCH of us) always pit in the "squared" circle right before and at the scoreboard.

We need to try to get on the pavement. My truck and trialer is about 58 feet long, so it might get crowded in that square your talking about. The last 2 years I have managed to get pavement. That's why I was asking if a bunch of us could meet on thursday morning and go in together. I will need 2 spaces, one for me and one for my brother. If we have to we can squeeze in there though. I we have to some of us can get across the return raod in the grass. I get a little nervous pitting up against the fence because what if the worst happens to someone coming down the track, there we would sit.

From what Ive been reading on the NMRA website the car counts have been dropping steadily. It might be easier to get some pavement this year. I actually parked on the south side of the oval track out side of the fence a couple of years ago, and I got shade and 110V outlets.

From the pavement to the score board is a HUGE triangle. Start at the tip of the triangle and work your way back to the pavement, we usually take up MOST of that area. That's all the BBF Guys and my friends that I race with locally. We'll make room for you. My trailer is 44' along with Chuck's F350 and his folks RV, we also need LOTS of space

Funny you should ask. We got Chuck's car running yesterday and then last night I was talking with Blake and Chuck; I believe we are going to Beech Bend and do some testing next Saturday. My car, Chuck's car and Blake's car. We Will stay the night and head out in the morning.

Well guys found out today that dad pulled the plug to drain the oil and there was shavings all inside. We think it is the main bearings so we get to pull the motor tomorrow and see if the crank is going to need to be turned. So at this time we might be done for the year. With money as tight as it has been we might not be able to make BG again this year! I will keep you guys updated on what we find tomorrow but at this time it is not looking to good. Kind of the same thing that happened to us up in BG 2 years ago.

later,
