I recently purchased a 66 Galaxie 500 XL that had a 390 engine (missing when I received car. I have the opportunity to purchase a 460 w/ C6 trans out of a 75 lincoln town car. Does anyone know of any major problems I might run into.

Thanks I'll look around. The deal I have on purchasing a 460 w/ C6 trans out of a 75 Linclon Town Car is to good to pass up. Just looking to see if I have any huge issues to over come. I've heard many good things about the 460, and not being able to find an original 390 to put back in the car, I figured, why not go with more cubic inches.

Pic's of the car, good one. I just bought the car and will post some in a few days.

You can buy motor mounts and headers from Crites. I've used a lot of their products with no issues. See http://www.critesrestoration.com/galaxie.htm

460 in a big car like a Galaxie sounds like a no-brainer to me. Need some torque to get that puppy moving.

Good luck,

Scott
