I have been gathering parts for a a few years now and finally bought the car and the motor.

The Mustang is a 1990 GT with what I believe is a 4 point roll cage with pro-street bars so getting in and out is not a pain. 90/10 shocks, lowering springs an 8.8 with 3.73's and subframe connectors. It also has the stock interior with a new carpet and some 17" Chrome Cobra R's along with a mach 1 style hood and stalker front bumper. (Will post pics later)

The engine is a D1 i believe and is at the machine shop getting bored out to 466. The heads will just be stock C8VE's with larger 1.76 Exh and 2.19 intake Manley valves and hopefully some port work in the near future. An Edelbrock performer intake and 750 Holley. We had origionally chosen a small cam but will be going with the 262 comp cam lift .514" in. and .524" exh. and 218 in and 226 exh duration @.050 lift. The pistons are forged and set up for roughly 9.5 to 1 compression ratio. The stock crank and rods will be used and we're shooting for around 400hp and 500ftlbs (is that a good guess?).

One thing that I would like to do is mate it to a TKO 600 to get the overdrive and have some fun shifting the gears. I have heard and read mixed things about this but this is what I want to do and hopefully I'll have enough money saved up to do it.

Any comments (positive or negative) or advice are welcome. I'll try to get some pics up tonight.

Be careful when you close the hood the first time, it might hit the distributor cap. Don't ask me how I know this.

Yea I plan on buying k member spacers so that i can hopefully get it under the 1.5" cowl. Does anyone have any experience with these spacers?

Sounds like an fun ride.

How come you went with bigger valves without any porting? Looking at the horsepower chart it looks like your parts should put you around 400-425.

Keep us update with pics when you get your block back from machining.

Origionally I didnt think i was going to need porting but I am really thinking about getting it done. How much power would it be worth on an aplication like this and how easy is it to do and how much would it cost to be done professionally.
