The 1st Annual Mid South Bracket Nationals has been postponed due to a poor weather forecast.

The event is rescheduled for August 14-16, 2009.

TRW Motorsports President Glynn Williford said, "We apologize for the rescheduling of the event, but due to Mother Nature's seeming unwillingness to cooperate with large events at Memphis Motorsports Park this year, we had to postpone the event."

Williford, the drag strip announcer at MMP also, cited rain in 2009 during the Super Chevy Show, PINKS All Out and the ADRL Memphis Drags which hampered all three events, forced the postponement of part of two of them and significant schedule change of another.

The decision was made as early as possible to avoid having many participants having driven long distances being forced to sit in the rain to race, or forcing them to skip the race altogether. With drivers verbally committed from South Carolina to Texas it was a difficult but necessary decision. Williford added, "As a former driver, nothing is more aggravating as sitting in the rain at a race track wondering if or when I would get to race. We apologize for anyone inconvenienced by the rescheduling of the event. The inconvenience in early postponement would pale in comparison of having driven long distances, trying to race, then not being able to. Rain was forecasted as 30 - 40% likely each day of the event when the decision was made around 10 am central time Wednesday July 1st."

Fortunately the event has already been rescheduled and the new date is August 14-16, 2009 and TRW Motorsports says it will be better than originally planned.
