79 FAIRMONT FUTURA TIRES

Buildind 79 fairmont drag car, got centerline auto drag rims, 3.5x15 front 8.5x15 rear anybody know what size tires would work and look best , going to buy tires and figure how much to narrow my new 9 inch, will have coil overs on all 4s , also what wieght of springs ? thanks tim

back spacing of the rims, where the fender lip is after beating it with a hammer, front spindles used, etc all affect tire size. as far as the springs it has been suggested that 14inch 175 pound springs is a good place to start. hope that helps with the research! bobn

I have a 79 futura too, I'm using 15X10 weld drag rims. I honestly
can't remember the backspacing, if I get a chance I'll measure them.
The slicks I use are 26X10 and they just fit, I can't go any bigger
unless I cut the forward part of the fender. Hope this helps.
