Coming here next week. Can't get any good info on how it's done. I really don't want to hot lap my car in the Texas heat! If I can get 10 minutes cooling, that's different. I wonder how they pair ET's up? Is it better to run near the .50 marks, 7.00, 7.50, 8.00 ect??? Is it worth even doing? I NEVER watch this stuff on TV, so I need info. Thanks!

It aint a get on TV deal. IMO, waste of time, and damn sure not in the heat.

Duane,
If you go a couple of rounds, you WILL be hot lapping. As in no stopping. The guy who won the Tulsa event last year ended up wasting his engine. The last two passes he made were nothing but smoke and steam. If you stop your car in the pits for any reason you are DQ'd.
The best thing about the event we attended was that we got to chill with Jon and his peeps.
We did manage to go a few rounds, though, so that was kinda cool, but overall the heat, sitting around wasting time, and listening to the jackass announcer pretty much ruined it.

I knew there wasn't any TV time, I just wanted to do something different, and make a little money. I watched the motorcycle clip they have on the website, both guys wasted clutches! I guess I could run the Maverick, it will hot lap, but it's slow, original idea was for my daughter to run the Mav, me in the Stang, but she works that day. I think I will work the track Fri, race it Saturday.

If you just want to go and make some passes its ok, pretty much a low pressure deal. As Greg said you get in the show get ready to burn it up, my opinion not worth the hassle for the reward.........that the will change on the fly and screw you lol. We had fun as I hadn't run that track in 15 years, and it was a close tow.

Thanks for the advise, I'll run the Mav, low 9's (1/8) stock streety car, should survive if my daughter can make several passes with out stopping!
