dfree383 08-11-2009, 02:39 PM Don,
I have a 900hp 460 based engine (Thanks Lem Evans (Bf Evans Ford) Charlie Evans (Evans Race Engines), Adney Brown (Performance Crankshaft), Mike Phillips (automotive machine), Phillip Oakley (Quick Fuel)) with a glide, 5.86 Strange 9" at about 3100#
How much convertor should I be running and how fast do you think it will be?
Your knowlage on these subjects is greatly appriciated.
Cale Aronson 08-11-2009, 03:33 PM I would recommend you talk with someone like Lenny over at Ultimate Converter Concepts or another good converter shop. There are quite a few that do good work!
As for the capability of the car.... Depending on suspenssion and how it is setup, that weight with that HorsePower should be able to run in the 8.60 to 8.90 second range at around 150 - 155 MPH give or take.
dfree383 08-11-2009, 03:54 PM Cale I'm a little shy about the 5.86s not being enough, any thoughts?
Cale Aronson 08-11-2009, 04:31 PM Without a little more info, I would be pressed to say.
It will depend on what transmission you are running, and tire size.
dfree383 08-11-2009, 04:36 PM I have a powerglide and a 31" tire.
Cale Aronson 08-11-2009, 05:39 PM Do me a favor...
Send me an email with the following info...
RPM (Shift & Max) ???
Weight - 3100 lbs
31" tall tire
and the general details and I will get you a gearing outline back to you.

c.evans 08-11-2009, 09:38 PM Hey Guys,
Let's lighten up and be nice to Cale, please! I know his dad Chuck and they are good people. I welcomed him to the forum a few weeks ago, and I hope you all do also.
I know some of you are upset by the sale of the forum and changes that are being made, but we are not making a good first impression. I know we smack talk to each other, have pretty thick skins, and we joke around a lot. However some of the relative newcomers don't know when we are joking and when we are not joking.
Thanks,
dfree383 08-11-2009, 09:45 PM OK Charlie, I'll let this one go.....
