That's cool stuff. I always admired Sizemore's car. I was crewing on my cousin's E/Altered (powered by an injected Dodge "bent six") at the 3rd annual "Pop Rod Championships" at U.S. 131. (That would be in the early '70's.) That very Maverick trailered us in Comp eliminator. Ah, memories.
On a side note, does anybody remember when Boss 302 heads were being cut/welded/modified to run on the truck 6?

Not sure when that happened Kim. later indy cyl head started making the aluminum heads in that configuration.
We have two ford six heavies here that i know of, Jerry Arnold and Steve Ambrose. Jerry is just west of me, Sharp cookie that guy.
I have a Ambrose story for yas. My Dad was at a race here in michigan spectating a few years back. Ambrose was still running a dragster then. My dad helped them change a motor or trans, cant remember. Then my dad noticed and said, hey Steve is that a extra clutch leaning there against the trailer?? Steve about chit!!! Boy was Steve releived!! They made it to the call thankfully that day.
Sorry for the hijack.

I may be incorrect, I believe the Ford 300 I-6 engines used as drag race engines, used three Boss 302 heads engineered as one. In my area, Joe Williamson was one of the fore runners to this design. His car was campaigned in NHRA Modified Eliminator, and was not only fast but successful! Later I think this same technique was used with aluminum cylinder heads. Now, who knows, billet parts may be the status quo! Ambrose to this day does an excellent job with his hot rod using the in-line six configuration.

I ran a H/mp maverick back then, never could run with that one though. Also ran a 240 inch motor in E/ED until just a few years ago.Allen Johnson does a billett head for the in line six, that is what Ambrose uses.
