fuel system question

all of the fuel cells I see are -8 outlets. If I want to run a pump with a -10 or -12 inlet do I just get one of those Y fittings that go from -12 to 2 -8 or do I have to cut and weld in new fittings?

If its an aluminum cell cut it off and weld the size you want on there. If its plastic just dril the hole larger and install the bigger outlet.
