curiousgeorge 08-15-2009, 02:24 PM Dang I don't feel like such an outcast now with our own section and everything.:D Guess I'm still the blacksheep with the 2wd puller. It started as a 69 model F250 and last winter I put a 94 body on it. I don't have any recent pics on here of the truck since the wife ALMOST finshed lettering it. lol

mudracer1978 08-15-2009, 07:56 PM the green is when it came home not much is the same since that day. just got painted this spring.
Relentless79 08-16-2009, 04:21 PM I've got a 79/91 ford F350 on 59 inch combine tires. Fairly healthy 466. 514 in the works. 5 ton transfer case. 2.5 ton rockwell axles. I built it to throw some mud, and that it does!!
78bronco460 08-17-2009, 12:29 AM My 460 is in a 78 Bronco thatI've had for 11 years. I used to run in the mud drags, but now it's a trail rig with a ZF5speed, 203/205 doubler, twin stick and flexy suspension.
I raced with DOVE C heads and the Comp 268H cam, stock 1976 short block. After the rebuild last year and trans swap from a C6 to the manual I put a fresh set of open chamber heads. The same cam went back in but it's not so impressive with the low comp. I may go back to the DOVE C heads.
I have no intentions of mud drag racing with a manual trans. I've seen it go wrong a lot more than right.
Here's a video of a race I ran:

Injected79 08-22-2009, 12:54 PM Hey guys im kinda new around this forum when it comes to posting, but iv been reading alot on here the past few months while building my engine.
We have a couple of trucks
My dads is a 79 f-350 dana 60 front sterling 10.25 rear 4.10 gears, its been cut and legthed 36" sits on 9" inches of lift 38.5 boggers, 12" wide weld wheels, he is running a 468 big block,c6 np205. The truck has all king ranch interior from i beleive an 04 superduty. He mainly uses the truck for a cruiser and for shows. Every once in a while we will put the camper behind it on a trailer with my 79 on it for some events.
Mine is a 79 f-150 i bought froma junk yard when i was 13, my dad and i did a full restoration on it so when i turn 16 it was my first truck, and my dd. Now thign have changed a bit. Iv swapped a 60 in the back changed the 44 up front to 8 lug, im running 5.13 gears locked up on both ends, these pictures are from last year when the truck was on 38.5 swampers, but now its going back down to 33x15.50 claws for tug a truck. Truck also has 9" of lift, the engine im finishing up with is a 501 full roller big block, c6 with 2500 rpm stall and np205 case. Then i also built a 97 f-350 with a 12 valve cummins swap and if any body want any info on that just let me know.
prosandguy 08-22-2009, 09:41 PM While its not a "truck", its still all Ford and BB powered to boot.

lonco 09-03-2009, 07:41 PM Mines a 78 F250 Puller/Crawler/Cruiser
I built everything but the transmission and transfer case in either my back yard or my buddies. I used 79 F150 6" lift coil springs front and back along with a 3-link in the front and a triangulated 4-link in the rear. The body is put together from at least 4 different trucks and it was straight 6 years ago before trees and rocks jumped into it ;-) I pull it in the local pulls and it does pretty good, i just need a little more motor and nobody around here could touch me in the street class, the truck hooks up almost too good. I also take it rock crawling at various off-road parks and the truck is street legal (well a little high with the 39's).
Bricktop 09-04-2009, 11:38 PM Nice rig.

This is my truck. It is an early 77 F250 that I use for local pulls and cruising around. It's kind of a long term project. Last year I built and installed the engine, this year I took it down to the frame to have it blasted/primed/painted. I also installed a different rear axle and built a hitch for it. Pulling season is just about over, so I'm just driving it right now. I'll be looking for a body for it this winter. Hopefully by next spring I'll have it looking nice.

deluxetruck 09-08-2009, 04:44 PM are those home made motor mounts? hows that hitch working out for ya
The motor mounts are home made. The way the headers were routed left almost zero wiggle room. The engine could only be in one spot, so I had to make some solid mounts to make it work. As far as the hitch, it hasn't broken off yet. I guess that makes it a success. I wanted to incorporate a receiver for a number of reasons, and I chose to attach it like that because of how I block the suspension.

sgleshot 09-09-2009, 02:12 PM Heres a couple pics of my rig, I race Pro tough trucks, currently I'm runnin a 460 with a more or less stock bottom end, with a warm rv cam, stealth intake, custom headers, Ported dove heads with big valves and harland sharps, C6 behind that with a 3000 stall coan converter, and I'm runnin 4.56 gears in the locked 9 inch and trac locked dana 44. I'm currently 2nd in points for the season, soon to be takin over the lead in points in Pro Class.

Lifted Fords 09-17-2009, 10:25 AM I have a few toys. First is a 93 F250 with 13" lift, 44" boggers, beadlocks, EFI 460, ZF 5 speed, 1356 T-case, D60 front, 10.25 rear, 5.13 gears, locked out back, high steer, 4 wheel disk, dual batt., dual winches, on board air, lots of lights. Next is a 92 bronco with 10" lift, 40" ground hawgs, D60 front, 10.25 rear, stock rebuild EFI 460, rebuild E4OD, 1356 t-case, will get a winch and a few exta things. Will be mostly a show truck.
kjett 09-20-2009, 03:18 PM I guess I've waited long enough to show my little ranger. It's a 89 long bed that was rolled over. We straightened the roof, welded it back up, gutted the whole thing, bobbed the bed to get rid of rot and damage and put it on a 78 F-150 shortbed 4x4 frame. Even though it's at stock 150 suspension height, there is nothing stock about the suspenison. Front is stock height 4x4 springs, with a better rate to handle the BB with a set of CE adjustable drag shocks. Out back is the ranger main leafs on AFCO spring sliders to keep me in class rules. In reality, the springs are there to act more to keep the axle centered under the truck. The real suspension is a set of custom made chromoly ladder bars and a set of QA1 coilovers. To get the truck to fit the frame right, we used parts of a 3" body lift (mainly on the bed). Steering is a Mustang manual rack. Motor was a stock 460 bottom end with ported/big valve D3's with Comp cam, stealth intake, 850dp carb, and 2 1/8" Schoenfield upright headers, going into a race prepped C6 (clutchs, drums, input/output shafts, rollerized, manual reverse valvebody) feeding a 205 to the D44/spooled 9". Both axles are chromo'ed shafts. Gears are 3.55/4.10. Truck weighs 3018lbs on 38.5x11 boggers with me in it. Here are few pics of the truck:

I got my *** handed to me on that day by a bunch of alcohol guys, so I made up my mind and started to build a new motor! Now motor is a SCAT H-beam rodded, SRP pistoned 466 that after the block was all square decked and with the heads re-worked again (decked to a final .030 from stock, ported more and 2.19/176 valves), It should get me around to 11:1 on a fully balanced rotating assembly. Add a victor intake and a 250hp shot from a NOS Cheater system and I'll be back out looking for blood Come October 3rd!
Anyone wanting to come up to VA that weekend to race/play in the mud, let me know! There's a group of us meet up from up and down the coast from another site and we'll be partying like rock stars all weekend long!

Baja Bandido 10-09-2009, 01:52 PM Hello everyone,
While I'm not a 4x4 but this truck will see plenty of dirt as a mild built prerunner. As it stands this is a four door Bronco built by Magnum motor Coach in December of 1988. This Bronco was built by Ford Motors out of Canada as a 1989 model and sent to Magnum for the conversion to four doors. It started life as an F350 crew cab and was cut from the back of the door opening where a Bronco rear section was added. The future for this bronco will be a full 2" roll cage, extend front beams and radius arms, 3" King Coilovers and Deaver springs. This truck will be a four seater.

Jmudder79 10-21-2009, 09:19 PM The black one is my 79 F-250 with a 460, NP-435, NP-205, Dana 60 front, Dana 70 with disc brakes in the back, and 38.5 Boggers. Not my daily driver anymore, but I still drive it a couple times a week. The multi-colored one is my 79 F-150 I had since high school. I had it in the garage for the past 10 years and just finally got it out of there so I can fix it up and drive it again. That is going to be my woods truck. I got 15" for it and a various other parts I've collected for it over the years. The little one is my pavement pounder.Old pic. Before I put he motor in it. Did some stuff to it since then, but no recent pics. It's a 79 F-100. It's got a 400 out of a parts truck I picked up. Don't know exactly what the guy did to the motor, but it has some work done to it.

Here's mine..... No 460 under the hood yet... But there are plans for the swap. I just have to finish school and start working before I can afford the swap (and D60 front, and the list goes on). So, I figured I should start reading and posting on here. It's mainly used to play around in the bush, in the mud and snow and rocks and whatever else we find.

575ciBronco 11-08-2009, 06:59 PM This is my 1984 Ford Bronco with a wicked 557ci stroker pushing out 800hp! I race on down and back tracks... 2 jumps and 180 degree turn around! it has a Dana 50 up front and a 9in rear 4:10 locked yukon 3rd member and 35 spline Moser Axles. C6/205 4 wheel disc brakes with dual master cylinders for locking up the left front wheel and making the 180 degree turn around a breeze! Iam now currently building a new race truck for next season as you can see I rolled this truck 4 times this. The new truck is a 95 Bronco it will weigh around 3500lbs and I am building a 1000hp 575ci with Kaase P51s.

I've seen your trucks on Youtube. Very nice. I'm guessin Peppermint's 468 went into Pinkmint?
Mud Freak 11-16-2009, 09:45 PM Hey Toush, when did you get the '78? I haven't seen it before, looks like its in better shape then mine!!
toushhog 11-17-2009, 06:13 AM Bricktop,
No, the motor in the pink truck isn't my old motor. I sold my motor to a friend of mine, we built that just for her truck. Its close to the same motor but a set of D3VE heads instead of the EFI heads, RPM airgap instead of the EFI intake.
Mudfreak,
She has had the truck for a few years, I just finally finished it for her. It had all half ton running gear, so I figured 2 1/2 tons would be the cheapest. In some of my videos it had a 351m in it, so you have to watch the newiest one to see the 468 in action. If it has the headers threw the hood, it is the 468.
Scott460cid 11-18-2009, 11:56 PM I bought this old pile (the truck) in March of 1994 in 8th grade. Have driven it all through high school and college. Now it's got a nice warm spot in my garage awaiting its next adventure. This truck has been raced (on and off road). Wrecked, Rolled, Stolen, Shot, Impounded, and through a Tornado. Rebuilt several times. It's got a 494cid built by Pedigo Perf. C-6 built by Thiessen Transmissions. 203 transfer case. Dana 44 front and 9" rear with a spool. 5:13 gears. Don't have any pictures of it in my new laptop except for this one. My wife and my "mistress" as she calls it.
crittersf1 11-19-2009, 05:52 AM Well, hello Scott! How ya been?
Scott460cid 11-19-2009, 11:50 PM Well Critter, the old red Ford has a little knockage in the bottom end. Amy said if I'm a good boy I can throw some cash towards a new motor. I'm gonna shoot for the 600 h.p. range. That way it'll run good, but I can still cruize with it on the trails and through the campground at the dunes. So I found this little plant of 385 series knowledge to help me work up a recipe. I plan on doing as much as I can myself. It'd be easier if you'd just sell me that rig of yours so I could have all that h.p. instantly.
crittersf1 11-20-2009, 06:10 AM NOT 4 SALE ANYMORE. You had your chance!
C_andy460 12-08-2009, 11:30 PM Here's a picture of my 79 Bronco Trailer Special. It's my second. It's pretty much stock with a 478 BBF, C6, NP205, and 33-12.5 x 15's. Makes about 400 HP. The wife calls it "The Mountain Eater" because I took her to Uwharrie NF where I listening to her make little piggy squeals all day.:) It was her first time 4 wheeling and she will "NEVER GO AGAIN". She says I need to take my brother so I can hear him scream like a little girl. :)

Greenbroncoguy 12-19-2009, 07:41 AM I guess I'll get in on this - there's some pretty cool looking trucks in here...
This is our (my dad's really:)) 79' Bronco. It was originally a hunting truck/mud truck, then it got a built 460 and was strictly a mud truck/sled pulling rig, and now with the 605 it is pretty much strictly a sled pulling truck/garage queen. We've been plagued with drive train issues ever since dropping in the 2.5ton running gear - it likes to bounce and pull the front end off the ground when we're pulling in the 6750lb class, since we can't hang any weight on the front. In the 8000lb class, we hang another ~1800lbs about 4' over the front and it does not bounce, it just goes.
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k260/greenbroncoguy/Dads%20Bronco/0222090809.jpg
Just some shots at one of the sled pulls this year - tires are 44 x 19.5 x 16.5, wheels are 16.5 x 20" wide.

mudracer1978 12-24-2009, 10:04 AM here is my yard ornament for the last two years. the green pic is when it came home thought it was race ready, and after changing everything but the motor ( and i mean everything new front axle, tranny, rear axle, rear suspension, changed mounts, roll cage, new sheetmetal) it was raceable. the blue is spring of 09 after new paint but work and life put a halt to anything else this year. last two pics are of new headers( any critisizing is encouraged) and have almost all new engine parts so hopefully will be ready to run this spring.
