Any body have the measurements on how tall/thick a c4 converter is supposed to be?

That's quite a question.

What style of convertor?

It is for a 26 spline pan fill C4, from what we can tell the issue is not where the feet are mounted or the snout where it goes into the crank. It may be on the length of snout where it slides into the tranny, or maybe the new input shaft is to long. It is looking like the converter will not slide all the way in.

What brand convertor? Some convertors are made to be used with a mid-plate, and if one is not used the convertor will bottom out on the stator support/input. My Neal Chance was just such a critter. Use some spray paint and put some paint on the end of the stator support and input shaft and slide the convertor all the way on. The paint will tell you what is bottoming out.

Do you have the input shaft in the right way?

Long splines / short splines.

I`ve had to face the snout on mine after I had it freshened. I use a pan fill with a 351m bell, it seems that bell on a 460 comes out a little shorter than case fill.

It has a midplate.

The input shaft is in the right way, but I am not 100% it is the right length or all the way back. We started dropping the tranny but it is to hot in the garage, maybe the weekend before it is out. I have an oem hardened shaft to compare it to or even replace it with.

I am suspecting the stator support is to long.

Somebody suggested, and I tried, to use two block plates with my mid-plate. It worked. Got to rebolt the tranny cross member and install the driveshaft. Then back to the little bit left to get it started. Hopefully next weekend, unless someother unexpected pops up and probably will.
