thanks
Dave
Hello Magnaflow
I just visited your site. How do I look up your product by size and specification? I don't think anyone on this site has a stock setup or application!
Thanks, WJS
Have a good day!

Foreskin 08-25-2009, 09:59 PM Goddam, I guess this section of the forum is here just for a stupid *** pagnaflow emblem to be displayed.
I put a set of Magnaflows on my BMW recently and the car lost 16 RWHP according to a chassis dyno.
Sounded good, though, but the OEM mufflers made more HP and were quiter.

Mark Miller 08-25-2009, 11:02 PM On the chassis dyno was it the same dyno and the same day.
Later Mark.
Foreskin 08-25-2009, 11:24 PM no i had the car dynoed after i bought it in 2007. it is an M6 for anyone who is concerned.
Anyway, two years later i left virginia and and when I got to gunnison colorado i eventually had the mufflers swapped and re dynoed the car.
sure enough 16 rwhp was gone.
Mark Miller 08-26-2009, 12:36 AM Probably a big elevation difference between Virginia and Colorado. If high up in the elevation in Colorado compared to Virginia could have made a big difference in power. What i'm trying to say is the elevation and air quality could of been the problem not the mufflers.
Later Mark.
Rodeheaver 08-26-2009, 11:27 PM and since i have a chassis dyno, i can tell you thta no 2 dynos are the same..
billandlori 08-27-2009, 10:59 AM I see that magnaflowrep hasn't logged in since the 11th. The BG guy got smacked around quite a bit and he is on here every day.......

I believe he said his car was a M6. That a high dollar car that probably had custom carbonfiber, titanum, tuned mufflers from the factory. Why would someone swap the mufflers out in the first place.
magnaflowrep 10-21-2009, 12:55 PM To answer questions magnaflow exhaust does not sell direct to the public. We are here on the forum to provide any assistance that might be needed. If you are interested in purchasing magnaflow mufflers please contact a prefered magnaflow dealer which can be found at www. magnaflow.com .
All magnaflow mufflers are catagorized by size of the mufflers typical sizes are 4x9 oval , 5x8 oval , 5x11 oval, 4", 5" , 6" , and 7" round bodied mufflers. The typical way to define our mufflers is the smaller the case volume of the mufflers the louder the overall sound and larger the quieter. please let me know if you ahve any follow up questions. Thank you.

The HP loss you're talking about is clearly because of altitude and there are different dyno's that read much different. My 73' RS/Z28 Camaro made more HP through MagnaFlow mufflers than it did 100% open.
MagnaFlow is a great company and they make a lot of awesome products that support the BIG HP you guys are making. Sometimes from a logistical stand point it's hard to manage 100's of forums. That is why they have Preferred dealers such as ourselves to support the product.
We're a Preferred MagnaFlow Distributor and I'd be happy to offer forum discounts to members. Mach1Morgan 02-05-2010, 11:42 AM I am looking for a muffler that will fit in the stock location on a 69 Mustang fastback, but one that has a 3" inlet and outlet on the same end of the muffler. I am building a Transam racecar clone for that street and this will allow me to run a 120 degree bend off the front of the muffler and a side exit much like an old Transam racecar. Eleanor clones often run the same style muffler with their exhaust exiting in front of the rear tires. Flowmaster makes a muffler like this but I'd rather run a Magnaflow 'cause I like their sound better and I think that they make a bit more power. Have you got anything in a high flowing muffler that will help me out? Part no?
Thanks
magnaflowrep 02-08-2010, 04:28 PM If i had to recomend a muffler for the vehicle i would have you look at two different styles. First style i would have you look at would be a 4x9x14" oval bodied center offset. The second would be a 5x8x14 offset offset on the same side but this muffler is only available in 2.5". if you have any further questions please call magnaflow tech. thank you. 1-800-990-0905

I am running a 78 LTD with a 460 and block hugger headers. I would like to have the sound of a 56 Crown Vicky with walker continentals or a 57 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser with Porters. I like quite in the car and crackle on highway under heavy acceleration. What muffler would you recommend. I heard alot of good things about MagnaFlow and I would like to try them. I have a 2 1/2 inch pipes.:D

anybody at MagnaFlow?
magnaflowrep 03-03-2010, 12:05 PM in a situation on where you want quiet in the vehicle but a nice tone outside the vehicle i would probobly look at either a 4x9x18" oval bodied muffler or a 5x8x14" oval bodied muffler. The general idea is larger the case of the muffler the quieter the overall sound. Personally myself i would run the 4x9" oval bodied muffler. yes it would be a little more aggressive inside the vehicle but i think you would be very happy with the overall sound of the vehicle. if you would like to go into further detail please let me know or call magnaflows tech line at 1-800-990-0905 and we can go more into depth. thank you.
