c6 transmision

anybody have any info how to keep a c6 together in a truck puller i had three built by three different tranny shops they all got too hot and blew up i have the biggest tranny cooler i could get any info would help thanks

Are you spending alot of time under the stall speed of the convertor? How much hp are you running? I have a friend who runs a c6 in his puller and has near 100 hooks on it, works great. He's around 740hp and I don't believe the trans has anything special.

I use to run C-6s, built them myself and I am no transmission builder. Put in or build a good valve body and never had any issues. Run over 800 horse a lot. I thought they were really tough if I could build them and never have issues. What stall are you running?

Look for another trans builder.

Frank Merkl has done more with the C6 than anyone I know and he's been up to 125 passes on a C6 running almost 200mph 1/4 mile passes. You need to consider better tranny fluid like the Hy-Tran(CaseIH) or Hyguard(John Deere) fluids. As far as a better cooler, try an old beer cooler with a coil of copper tubing in it filled with ice.;)

Theres absolutly no reason why a C6 shouldnt handle this.
Your Shops are doing something wrong, or your cooling loop is not working.
Do you ahve a temp guage on this?

Does Frank ship any complete c6s south of the northern border? For some reason I am thinking he told me in the chatroom one night he only ships his valve bodies way south? Speaking of beer... you missed out on some good ones in Pueblo, and I ate all the chikin I brought with me.:)
